Not really, but just speculating..
Scott wrote a blog entry, back in September, about what would happen if New Orleans got hit by a big hurricane!
Saw this on the MAKE Blog.
I saw a bumper sticker while driving home on Eight Mile yesterday. It said:
When God Show Up
God Show Out
What does that mean? I did some research.
verb ushered, ushering
- To conduct or escort them, eg into or out of a building, room, etc. Thesaurus: show in, show out, lead, escort, receive. Form: usher someone in (usually) Form: usher someone out2. formal or literary To be a portent of it; to herald it. Example: technology that will usher in a new age of communication Thesaurus: introduce, launch, precede, initiate, herald, ring in. Form: usher something in
I’m cool with the whole religious thing, I’m religious myself. I’m not cool with the improper use of the English language. I’m quite appalled by it. Shouldn’t it at least be: “When God Shows Up, God Shows Out”? Shows is the proper conjugation of the verb show.
My friend, Bob, at work, showed me Start.com today. It’s Microsoft’s attempt at making a sleeker portal (start) page. I think they’re getting some design cues/competition from Google’s no-nonsense approach to bringing us all we need without graphics. I have to say, start.com is pretty damn cool. Works great in Firefox, which they’ve noted is on their agenda in terms of not forgetting about their firefox users.
Here are some of the things we’re currently working on: * Firefox support rest assured we haven’t abandoned our firefox users and are working on the issues continuously * OPML import/export yes, we have this in our previous versions and we’ll be adding it to myw3b soon… we’ve just got a few loose ends to tie up with the user experience * better default experience * drag/drop management of the sidebar and folder creation * import your favorites/bookmarks * roaming * UI fit and finish
What’s funny is that they use a lowercase “f” for firefox in their sentence about Firefox support. Kind of like when some people I know use god instead of God. =)
Anyway, check it out.
Heh, just as I clicked my own Technorati start.com tag to see what others have said about start.com, I find out that Google has their own personalized start page!
Check it out: Google’s start page
In talking with a guy at work, he told me a saying his dad told him:
“The stove never asks if you are wearing a skirt.”
I think that’s great. I’m all about being hands-on with our baby boy.

Awesome little storage device!
I’m all about portable storage. Currently, I have a 20GB laptop hard drive in an enclosure that uses the USB bus for power. Small, simple, one cable. I love it. It’s nice to have an enclosure you can throw into a bag, and this 8GB product from Lacie is even cooler, as you could literally throw it into a shirt or coat pocket.
So, when walking into Ben’s room this morning, I notice a little hand popping out from under the bumper! I had to take a few pictures of it.
Well, they got married two weeks ago, on the 3rd of September. I just realized a few days ago that I hadn’t pu up their photos. Well, click the photo below to see their photo gallery.
I still need to put up photos of their ceremony, which was absolutly beautiful, at the historic Van Hoosen Farm in Rochester, MI.
Haliburton gets new contract in New Orleans.
This is crazy. I’m sure all the Bush-haters out there are going to eat this story up. Too bad.
This Italian computer programmer was playing around with Google Earth when he stumbled upon some shadows in the imagery. He contacted some archaeologists and found an ancient villa.
I can’t believe a 5 blade razor is going to come out shortly. Gillette claims that it has nothing to do with Schick’s Quattro razor.
This is great. A well known Reuters photographer snapped a picture of George Bush writing a note to Condoleeza Rice asking for a bathroom break.
As I am slowly looking at playing World of Warcraft in my extreme “spare time”, I’ve been poking around the net at my old “stomping grounds”. I ran into this, where they talk about a new feature in World of Warcraft called the Dressing Room, where you can see how your character would look with items you’re interested in buying.
I had to post this. Dan sent it to me yesterday via e-mail.
