As I get more interested in photography and manipulating, I see blog entries like this and they jump out at me. Now, the problem is, I need to find the time to DO some of this Photoshop stuff. Sometimes, Picasa is much easier to quickly “tweak” my photos.
The following is the conclusion that Tom’s Hardware made when reviewing Windows XP Professional X64 Edition:
Given that there is no difference in performance when running 32 bit applications, it does not make sense to upgrade to Windows XP Professional x64 Edition when running them; you might be upgrading just for the sake of being an early adopter. The general conclusion here is that Microsoft’s WOW64 (Windows on Windows 64) translation layer works well and allows the execution of 32 bit software in Windows X64 without any noticeable difference. This reminds us of the transition from Windows for Workgroups 3.11 to Windows 95: as long as enough RAM was installed, performance was not an issue.
We will spend more time in the coming months evaluating 64 bit applications and possible performance gains, and reporting to you our results.
The Accident
A woman and a man are involved in a car accident on a snowy, cold
Monday morning; it’s a bad one. Both of their cars are totally
demolished but amazingly neither of them are hurt. God works in
Mysterious ways.
After they crawl out of their cars, the woman says, “So…. you’re a
man.
That’s interesting. I’m a woman. Wow, just look at our cars! There’s
nothing left , but we’re unhurt. This must be a sign from God that we
should meet and be friends and live together in peace for the rest of
our days”.
Flattered, the man replies, “Oh yes, I agree with you completely,
this must be a sign from God!”
The woman continues, “And look at this, here’s another miracle. My
car is completely demolished but this bottle of wine didn’t break.
Surely God wants us to drink this wine and celebrate our good
fortune.” Then she hands the bottle to the man.
The man nods his head in agreement, opens it and drinks half the
bottle and then hands it back to the woman. The woman takes the
bottle and immediately puts the cap back on, and hands it back to the
man.
The man asks, “Aren’t you having any?”
The woman replies, “No. I think I’ll just wait for the police….”
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Women are evil.
Don’t mess with us!
What can I say? The wedding and reception were absolutely spectacular! Demo and Cindy did a lot of work to get their wedding to be what it was. I had my jaw dropped to the floor most of the day and night. From the ceremony, to the view of the Detroit River, to the opening waltz, and to the overall “design” of the reception hall, everything fell into place absolutely wonderfully!

I can’t believe Demo and Cindy opened up their reception with a waltz! It looked as if they had professional classes. I was shocked when I found out they learned it one night, while watching The Sound of Music.
Later in the reception, Cindy, Noreen, and Diva did a choreographed dance that looked like something you’d see on MTV. Wow, Dino has a 3 minute 20 second video collage put together from video clips he took during the wedding and the reception.
We finally got our house put back together after a few weeks of renovations (not major). We got our hallway, great room, and kitchen painted. We also got new carpet in our hallway and great room and replaced the seating in our great room! All we need now is another loveseat or a recliner.
I feel that everything in the great room stands out now due to the lighter carpet. With the dark green, things seemed to be “eaten alive” by the floor!
It’s been a while since we’ve had some photos of Benjamin put up here. Michelle’s been snapping away and has produced some wonderful shots of our little boy!
